Learn how to capture the recording of your program

Using RevDeBug is as simple as using remote control.

One thing you obviously need is a C# or Visual Basic project. If you want sample project for getting started you can clone our inline_200_github_logo.png Tutorial Project.

To start recording, simply click on REC button inline_201_rec_button.png.Be sure, that power button is green inline_202_power_button.png. Red one means, that recording is turned offinline_203_power_button_red.png.

You can also start recording from RevDeBug Control Panel.

Your application will be built with RevDeBug Compiler. If current solution is compiled with RevDeBug for the first time RevDeBug Configurator will be displayed.

In this window, you can:

  • choose whether your recording should be saved (“File”) or not (“In Memory”)inline_207_rec_storage_type.png
  • change the destination of your recordingsinline_208_rec_destination.png
  • choose which projects to recordinline_209_rec_projects.png

If you want to change some of this options later, this window can be opened manually through RevDeBug Menu (RevDeBug > Recording Options).

Rebuild your application and perform any actions you want to be recorded. Stop recording either by closing your application or using REC button inline_201_rec_button.png. Recording will be loaded automatically into VS IDE.

The default path to generated recording is

%userprofile%\documents\RevDeBug\SolutionName\Recordings
